COMPOSER: Sergei Bortkiewicz
• Sergei Bortkiewicz was born in the Ukraine, spent time in Germany and became an Austrian citizen but always remained truly Russian at heart and as such is a true successor of the Romantic tradition of Tchaikovsky. • Alfonso Soldano is a professor of piano performance at the Braga Conservatory in Teramo, Italy. He was a student of Ciccolini and is renowned for his virtuosity. • These two artists work together to present the latest release in Divine Art’s Russian Piano Music Series.•
COMPOSER: Pelle Gudmundsen-
• The music of Pelle GundmundsenHolmgreen is at it’s most affecting when it is at it’s most absurd - like in the sinfonietta works on this recording by the composer’s longtime artistic accomplice Athelas Sinfonietta Copenhagen. • The points of departure for the classically absurd Gundmundsen-Holmgreen pieces on this album range from a red Skoda door, given to the composer by Athelas as a gift, over randomly picked newspaper articles to general inspiration from Samuel Beckett.
