COMPOSER: Carl Philipp Emauel Bach
• Among Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach’s last works are quartets for piano, flute and viola, composed in 1788. His reasoning for composing these works is unknown bu tin several respects they represent a climax in chamber writing. • Stylistically, they may be seen as an extremely elaborate synthesis of Classical writing and the individual style that caused Bach to be referred to as an original genius even during his lifetime. • This release follows the IDIS tradition of remastering and rediscovering the legendary Guitar Spanish School. • Famous guitarists such as Regino Sainz de la Maza and Andres Segovia grace listeners with their lyrical playing and stylistic accuracy.

COMPOSER: Henri Duparc • Frank Martin • Franz Schubert • Robert Schumann
• The german set to music, texts by a German who fled to France. The Frenchman set only texts from his own cultural sphere, but repeatedly went to Germany to see performances of Wagner operas. • The French-speaking composer from western Switzerland set texts by an Austrian. It seems difficult to find any natural connections between their works, yet they are all art songs in their most beautiful manifestation with temporal, cultural and national facets which are broadened by their creators’ universal awareness of art.
