FAVOURITE ORGAN WORKS
· Sophie Mayuko Vetter presents this
new release of Mozart's final Piano
Concerto, K. 595, regarded as his most
mature work in this genre. Joined by
the Piano Concerto No. 17, written by
Mozart for his pupil, Barbara Ployer.
·
Vetter gave a fantastic encore which
can be heard with Rainer Kussmaul,
performing in both the unfinished
Concerto in D Major and the C Minor
Fantasia.
· Johann Sebastian Bach is
indisputably the master of the organ
repertoire. From the renowned
Toccata and Fugue in D minor to the
apocalyptic Passacaglia, this album
collects the greatest works composed
for the king of the instruments by the
genius of Eisenach.
·
Organist Simone Stella is a very well
known performer of the integrale
organ and harpsichord repertoire
by Buxtehude (10 discs), Böhm (4),
Reincken (3), Walther (12), Froberger
(16). His Bach reveals a lot of qualities:
great technic control, fluid and
modern performance, rich of energy
and sense of rythm.

· Mark Bowden's first taste of fame came in 2006 when he won the Royal Philharmonic Society Composition Prize for his first commissioned orchestral work, Sudden
Light, which rounds out this album.
·
Mr. Bowden has enjoyed fellowships and residencies at multiple influential posts, including the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Rambert Dance Company, Aldeburgh
Music, University of Cambridge, and more. In 2015, he received the Welsh Music Guild's Glanville Jones Award.
·
This is Bowden's debut album of compositions. His work Lyra (2011) for cello and orchestra was described by Seen and Heard International as "a richly allusive work of
considerable scope and ambition." Bowden's ambition and skill are heard on the three other featured pieces as well.
