· André M. Santos holds degrees in
composition and classical guitar
from the Escola Superior de Música
de Lisboa, as well as a degree in
economics from the Universidade
Nova de Lisboa--both in Portugal.
As a composition student, he has
studied under António Pinho Vargas,
Carlos Caires, and Luís Tinoco.
· Santos is an active figure in the
Portuguese music scene, participating
regularly collaborating with regional
artists. He has served as director
of the Mythos Orquestra and of
the Quórum Ballet, accompanied
Teresa Salgueiro in her "Voltarei à
minha terra" tour, performed with
the Gulbenkian Choir, as well as the
Orquestra Sinfonietta in the opening
concert of Festa do Avante 2015.
· Mortiz Moszkowski (1854-1925) is
most known for his scintillating
piano compositions. He also
composed an opera, a full-length
ballet, three orchestra suites, a
symphony, songs, concertos and
chamber music - almost all of which
remain neglected or forgotten.
·
The San Francisco Ballet Orchestra is
internationally recognized as one of
the foremost ballet orchestra in the
world. Over the years, the orchestra
has accompanied such prestigious
ballet comapnies as American Ballet
Theatre, The Royal Ballet, Bolshoi
Ballet and many others.
· This release presents Giuseppe
sinopoli in a selection of his Classical-
Romantic concert repertoire with the
Sächsische Staatskapelle of Dresden
while also profiling him in those of is
compositions that were performed
in the Semperoper and recorded by
MDR Kultur.
·
The most fundamental concern of
this project was to remember him in
a mood of gladness and gratitude, on
the fifteenth anniversary of his death.
· Pianist Marie Jaëll is mostly known
today within music history because
of her pedagogic works. That
knowledge doesn't begin to unearth
all of her talent and works. She left
a rich and impressive compositional
oeuvre, not only for her proper
instrument but many others as well.
·
This release is the third sequel of a
series of recordings by Cora Irsen.
The details and miniature collections,
selected in this third album are
evidence of technical mastery in
the most diverse atmospheric,
conceptual and illustrative
manifestations.
