DUO SESSIONS
ˇ This new release takes listeners on a
journey through the home countries
of the Trio's members - Azerbaijan,
Turkey, Mexico and Russia - as well
as Austria and the Balkan. The trio
came together with a common vision
- to conquer the music world as Trio
KlaVis, in the unique formation of
piano, violin and saxophone.
ˇ
Each member arranges and composes
for the trio, they also commission
pieces from prestigious composers
in a multitude of styles, leading
audiences through an engaging and
creative program.
ˇ On this new release La Roza
Enflorese has collaborated with
the Alfama String Quartet and
they perform a Judaeo-Spanish
repertoire supplemented by Spanish
Renaissance polyphony and original
compositions by Philippe Malfeyt
setting poems by Pablo Neruda.
ˇ
La Roza Englorese decided two
things when thecommission began:
they knew they should collaborate
with a classical ensemble and they
should allow themselves to explore
other repertoires besides that of the
Sephardic tradition that has occupied
them for so many years.
ˇ Born in Slovakia in 1979, Pavol Breslik
made his professional singing debut
at the age of twenty-one. Since his
debut, he has progressively added
more and more to his repertoire
however he continually finds himself
returning to Mozart.
ˇ
Warmly praised by critics, he has no
qualms with his decision to return to
Mozart: "When I go back to Mozart
after excursions into other repertoire
- like Lensky or bel canto - and feel
at home with Tamino, I know I have
done the right thing."
ˇ Brahms's Concerto for Cello, written
in 1887, was what brought our two
musicians together on the concert
platform for the first time. Both
artists with this release to represent a
record of their work together as a duo
over the past ten years and more.
ˇ
Julia Fischer and Daniel Müller-Schott
prove their talent, accentuating the
infectious vigor of pieces throughout
the album and supporting each other
musically as well.
