TANGO
· Stephen Ackles celebrates 35 years as an
artist and releases his 15th album, The
Confidence Games. In 2013 Stephan had
his comeback and gave out the album
For More Than Only Tonight, which
earned great reviews and was named
"the best album in Ackle's career" - he's
now ready with the sequel.
· On this new release, listeners can
find both a duet with the legendary
singer Janis Ian and cooperations with
Alexander Rybak, Jorn Hoel and Steinar
Albrigsten.
· For Stephen, The Confidence Game
shows a new matureness, both as a
person and an artist.
· Argentine classical pianist Valentin
Surif presents with this new album his
second volume of tangos.
· The works chosen come from both
contemporary composers such as
Ciurleo and Solare as well as masters of
the classical tango tradition including
Juan Jose Ramos and Pedro Saenz.
· The release closes with a previously
unpublished piece by tango legend Astor
Piazzolla, and serves as a beautiful link
between the traditional and popular
worlds.
· This outstanding new release is a
potpourri of live recordings made on
stages in Germany, Switzerland, Spain,
and Buenos Aires.
· Argentinean pianist Zaida Saiace is
joined on these stages by an all-star cast
of musicians, including guitarist Edgardo
Cardozo, bassist Fernando Galimany,
and more.
· The repertoire chosen for this album
is largely pianistic, and ranges from
traditional tango to the tango in it's
modern form, as well as works by
genre-bending composers such as Astor
Piazzolla and Egberto Gismonti.
· Marian Farias Gomez presents her new
release, Tango, which is the artist's first
exploration of the tango genre.
· A tribute to her mother, this release pulls
Gomez away from her usual genres of
folklore and testimonial song to explore
popular tangos from her childhood.
· Gomez performs twelve classic tango
pieces here, including "Cafetin de
Buenos Aires," "La ultimo curds," "Gricel,"
and more.
