NAPOLÉON-HENRI REBER
TRIOS, NOS. 2, 4 & 6
· Louis Thirion wrote a succession of
sonatas and symphonies in the early
20th century. War took him away
from the musc scene, but above all
he saw the destruction of his house
and his manuscripts, a schock that
made him give up all creative activity
and devote himself from then on to
teaching.
·
For one only has to listen to the
extracts of teh Trio and the Quartet
to be convinced of the value of
this attractive, inspired and skillful
composer.
· The release marks the sixth volume
of chamber music and second of
sonatas by Joseph-Guy Ropartz.
·
These are to be true not worl premiere
recordings, yet this is inf act the first
time these monuments of French
music have been brought together.
They are heirs to franck, yet bear the
disctinct imprint of Brittany.
· Born in Siena, Azzolino Della
Ciaia was an italian organist,
harpsichordist, composer and organ
builder. He worked as an expert organ
builder and most notably worked
on the organ of Santo Stefano dei
Cavalieri, a large 5-manual and more
than 60 stop organ.
·
Mara Fanelli and Olimpio Medori
bring Ciaia's works to life with their
rich musicianship.
· The Trio Élégiaque released Volume
1, Trios in 2013 and it was a massive
success. The trio vowed to release a
second volume and has presented
here.
·
This release has trios nos. 2, 4, and
6, still having the same lyricism and
those beautiful phrases that make
Reber one of the rare authentic
Fren "Romantics". The trio has,
ever since their first disc, taken to
its heart a partner of the first rank:
Philippe Aiche, First Solo Violin of the
Orchestre de Paris.
